If you’ve got a remodeling project in the works you’ll want to get familiar with Gearoge’s. It’s the best place in SLC to discover bits and recycled building materials, and to donate materials you’ve removed during your renovation. George’s is an architectural salvage yard located at 470 E 900 S right behind Beans & Brews. He’s been collecting and recycling architectural salvage in downtown Salt Lake for over 25 years. You can literally find everything there: cabinets, doors, hardware, bathroom fixtures, heat registers, fencing, mantels, windows, lighting, furniture, and molding. If you’re looking for a certain item, just ask the staff. They’re friendly and can point you in the right direction. George’s is open Tuesday and Thursday 12:30–5:30 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM–3:00 PM.
