Dakota Lofts

Dakota Lofts is a unique blend of historic and modern design. The building was originally constructed in 1923 as a manufacturing plant for heating and plumbing supplies. Prior to its residential conversion, it was home to numerous companies including the Salt Lake Rubber Stamp Co. In late 1997, it joined Warehouse District Condos and Tire Town to become one of only three true loft style condos in Salt Lake City. It continues to be a favorite of Salt Lake urban dwellers because of its excellent location, industrial look, and private balconies. The sixth floor penthouse level was added to the original five story structure during the conversion and has a smaller footprint than the floors below. This allows room for each of the four penthouses to have a private rooftop terrace. The units vary in size between 540 and 1,700 square feet, most being studio and one bedroom units. The first two floors are dedicated to two story live/work condos with office/retail space on the street level, and residential living space above. A typical condo in Dakota Lofts has cement floors and ceilings, cement support columns, brick walls, original warehouse windows, and exposed duct work. Parking is secure, and each unit has one assigned parking spot in either the carport bay or garage.
